Delivery Driver DOT (Box Truck Delivery)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Safely drive and operate your delivery vehicle following strict safety standards on and off the road.
• Use hand held device for routing and customer delivery information.
• Independently or in teams, deliver packages to houses, mobile parks, apartments, and businesses.
• Navigate a variety of routes throughout the delivery area ranging from 25-70 stops a day.
• Must be comfortable driving and working in varying weather conditions.
• Load and unload packages to be delivered safely, securely, and without damage.
• Drive a cargo van or be a Delivery Associate Helper as needed.
• Be CUSTOMER OBSESSED!! We strive to deliver packages and smiles to our customers.
• Be able to work shifts ranging between 8-10 hours per day starting between 10:00AM-12:00PM, be able to work any day of the week, minimum 4 days per week and max 6 days per week (PEAK).
• Interact with customers and the public in a professional and positive manner.
• Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulatory as well as Company's policy.
• Maintain excellent safety metrics.
• Conduct pre- and post trips daily, fuel up daily, and maintain cleanliness of the trucks daily.
• Communicate with dispatch and/or management on the road.
• Perform the following tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation: a single Delivery Associate needs to be able to maneuver packages up to 70 pounds each using material handling equipment (MHE) and with a team of Delivery Associates (driver + helper) able to move items up to 300 pounds using MHE.
• Able to get in and out of truck and walk up and down stairs throughout your shift in a fast paced environment.

Basic Requirements for DOT Delivery Driver:

• Eligible to work in the U.S.
• At least 21 years of age for Drivers.
• Must possess a valid VA Drivers License.
• MUST have commercial driving experience with large vehicles with 1+ year.
• Proficient in English sufficient to meet US DOT standard of ability to read road signs, communicate with regulatory personnel, and pass DOT qualification training class.
• Successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background check and other training requirements.
• Drivers must be able to obtain DOT medical card and qualify as DOT Regulated driver operating 16-foot and 26-foot box trucks (GVWR between 10,000 to 26,000 lbs.). CDL not required but you MUST have prior experience driving big commercial vehicles.
• Route delivery experience is preferred.
• Large parcel handling experience is a MUST!
• Possess strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to perform and drive in various weather conditions and longer drive time.
• Must be proficient in heavy lifting.
• Must be reliable, respectful and a good team player.
