Position Summary

The Operations Manager is the on-the-ground leader of S3 Logistics and is directly accountable for achieving and sustaining Fantastic Plus performance on the weekly scorecard. This role owns day-to-day delivery operations, driver performance, safety protocols, fleet coordination, scorecard performance, DSP Program compliance, AND the full employee lifecycle — from recruitment and hiring through onboarding, retention, employee experience, and offboarding.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Delivery Operations

  • Manage all daily delivery operations ensuring zero dropped routes and on-time completion
  • Deploy 60+ routes daily with proper coverage (30 route + 2 rescue + 3 callout buffer)
  • Oversee dispatchers with scheduling, route assignments, and real-time driver support
  • Monitor and manage overtime to prevent burnout and ensure TX labor law compliance
  • Manage high-volume events (Prime Day, Peak) with leadership expansion and scheduling optimization

Driver Performance & Scorecard

  • Own the Amazon weekly scorecard — lead the team to Fantastic Plus every week
  • Coach drivers on FICO score components: distraction, speeding, seatbelt, following distance, signal usage, hard braking, stop sign compliance
  • Manage telematics for coaching, recognition, and weekly safety reviews
  • Regularly accompany drivers on routes for real-time coaching and OTR observations
  • Implement performance improvement plans for drivers below scorecard thresholds

Safety & Compliance

  • Establish and enforce safety-first culture — no delivery worth compromising driver safety
  • Ensure mandatory daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections by all drivers
  • Monitor severe weather and execute weather hold protocols
  • Investigate all accidents, near-misses, and safety events; report to Amazon within 24 hours
  • Maintain DOT compliance, OSHA General Duty Clause compliance, and OSHA 300 Log

Fleet Management

  • Manage all branded and rental fleet with a buffer of 5 vehicles above route count
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance per Amazon standards and rental agreement terms
  • Ensure telematics/camera systems are installed and operational on all vehicles
  • Train drivers on loading, spatial awareness, and damage prevention

Recruitment, Hiring & Retention

  • Maintain continuous pipeline of 100 candidates/week — never stops regardless of headcount
  • Manage dual-platform strategy: ZipRecruiter and Indeed
  • Run group interview events minimum twice weekly
  • Screen and advance candidates within 24 hours of application
  • Coordinate Amazon onboarding: station orientation, safety modules, and nursery rides
  • Maintain time-to-hire under 15 days
  • Achieve 95% retention rate within first year
  • Build employer brand as employer of choice in Tyler/East Texas

DSP Program Compliance

  • Serve as primary point of contact for DSP program communications
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with all DSP Program Policies
  • Submit all required reports to DSP portal within 24 hours

Qualifications

Required

  • 3+ years operations management in logistics/delivery/transportation
  • 2+ years HR/recruiting/people ops — high-volume hiring strongly preferred
  • Led teams of 30+ in fast-paced, metric-driven environment
  • Strong last-mile delivery and fleet management understanding
  • Experience with Indeed, ZipRecruiter, and/or ATS management
  • Proven coaching and development of frontline employees
  • DOT compliance and safety regulations familiarity
  • Texas employment law and compliance knowledge
  • Excellent decision-making in high-pressure/weather situations
  • Excellent communication — represent brand to candidates and community
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Flexible hours (early mornings, evenings, weekends as needed)
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must successfully pass a background check

Preferred

  • DSP program experience; familiarity with FICO scorecard, Flex app, and delivery standards
  • Group interview events and high-velocity pipeline management
  • Bachelor's degree — relevant experience valued equally

Additional Information

The hiring process takes approximately 1-2 weeks to complete. It may take longer if you have an out-of-state driver's license.
